McAfee 5958 Update False Positive Alarm of W32/Wecorl.a Virus

McAfee Anti-Virus software's recent DAT 5958 update for Windows SP 3 is causing lots of problems to the users with false positive report of W32/Wecorl.a virus. Once you apply the latest 5958 DAT update and reboot your computer, the computer detects "svchost.exe", one of the core components of Windows OS as affected by W32/Wecorl.a virus and terminates it. Due to this, your computer gets rebooted. And, as this process appears again, the system reboot goes in a loop making your computer unusable.

Most of the Windows users in USA have been affected by the McAfeee False Positive Alert. McAfee has responded immediately and released updates to the problem. If your computer has not yet downloaded DAT 5958 update, please don't download it. If you have already applied the 5958 DAT update, you need to apply EXTRA.DAT patch on your computer as per the instructions given by McAfee in this link - Patch 5958 DAT Update.

I am happy that McAfee has responded fast enough to solve the problem and updated their website. I would have wished for a more automated solution to solve 5958 DAT update problem but as it is , there is no other option than this due to the intensity of the problem. I now just wonder if McAfee doesn't test the updates before releasing?
