Apple Earnings Report Q1 2010 | Apple Earnings soar higher than industry expectations thanks to iPhone and Mac Sales

Apple reported strong surge in its 2010 Q1 Earnings, thanks mostly to steep rise in sales of its most successful product - the iPhone. A share of high effective Apple Earnings can be attributed to boost in the sales of its Mac Computers too. Sticking to its principles ( rather say trend), Apple has issued a very much conservative forecast for the Apple Earnings for the Q2 of this year.

iPhone unit sales have risen 130% compared to the same period last year. The iPhone sales have totally driven the results of the company for this quarter and are very much above par the Wallstreet's estimates. Apple sold a total of 8.75 million iPhones for this quarter. Analysts were expecting a little over 7 million sales.

Apple's Net Income for the quarter was announced to be standing at $3.07 Billion i.e., $3.33 per share. For the same period last year, the net income was standing at $1.62 Billion which was at $1.79 per share.Analysts were expecting just $2.45 per share on $12 Billion net income in their forecasts. Apple has crossed the expectations easily.

Apple revenues also jumped around 49% to reach $13.5 Billion. Adding to the good iPhone sales, Apple Inc. sold 2.94 Million Mac units with a rise of 40% in the Desktop sales from the same period last year. Number of iPod units showed a decrease though with sales dipping to 10.9 million units, which is 1% less than the sales last year. However, the revenue through the sales of iPod has gone up 12% suggesting that the people are favoring high-priced iPod Touch.Analysts were expecting sales figures of 3 Million Mac units and 9.75 Million iPod units.

Apple Inc.'s forecast of its Q2 earnings stand at $2.28-$2.39 per share with revenue in the range of $13 Billion to 13.4 Billion.The Wallstreet analysts' expectations are higher than those figures though.
