Videocon V1675 QWERTY Phone

Videocon has released its V1675 QWERTY Phone. The first look at the features suggests that its a good smart phone. Once you delve deep into it, you might feel its not to be. The mobile is priced at around  INR 5500 /- The look of the mobile phone is obviously a clone of BlackBerry. An initial look at features reveals that it has got a QWERTY Keypad, Optical Track pad and Dual SIM (GSM/GSM) Support. An innovative feature of this mobile phone is that it comes with a front- camera. Another new feature is Scheduled FM recording.Other features include 2MP Camera with flash, Bluetooth A2DP, 2gb expandable camera, Nokia charging pin, 140 hours battery backup,GPRS/EDGE support, Opera Mini Browser,USB connectivity, Social Networking integration etc.

Advantages:

  • The price of the mobile is very much affordable. (between 5000 to 7000)
  • Optical TrackPad
  • Nokia Charging Pin
  • Travel Charger, Car charger and pouch are given for free
  • Physical QWERTY
  • Front Camera
  • Scheduled FM recording.

Disadvantages:

  • No real applications for Social Networking (just optimized mobile interfaces)
  • No wifi/3G support making the front camera unusable for Video Calling etc.
  • QWERTY Pad is slow and somewhat noisy making typing speed slowest.
  • Average Camera/Media Quality.
  • Nothing much innovative.Just a knock off.

Conclusion:

Overall, Videocon still has a long way to go before it can have some good presence in the mobile arena.Rather than just making some knock offs, its better if they concentrate on something innovative. All in all, you can better buy cheaply priced MicroMax or Karbonn mobile than settling with Videocon V1675.
