April Fools Day is fast approaching and what could be the best event other than this to play a cool prank on your friends? And, if the pranks are related to computers, it will be all the more fun as you can call yourself a geek in doing so and also confuse yours friends the most :) So, we have made an effort to list some of the funniest and most effective cool computer pranks you can play on your friends. Use these latest computer pranks to pull your friends' leg and have that sweet revenge you on them for one of their pranks !!! Most of these funny computer pranks are very easy and simple to perform and hence require minimal amount of technical expertise!

Non-Software Based:

Black-out Monitor Prank :This is a very simple but very effective prank.On most computer monitors, if you turn the brightness control to the maximum possible value and the contrast to the lowest value, the screen appears to be blank. So, use this prank to Blank-out your friend's monitor and have fun while seeing them scream out, turn crazy trying hard to "fix" their not-working monitor and call the system support!

Switch Mouse Keys Prank: A very famous and effective prank this is! In windows, go to Control Panel and select Mouse. In the Mouse Properties dialog box that pops up, select the Buttons tab and under the Button configuration, select the Switch primary  and secondary buttons check box and click OK. This will switch the actions of the mouse buttons and have fun while seeing your friends' struggle while trying to click an object just to get the right-click menu pop up! You can also, do some other add-on pranks to this like changing the cursor icon to something offensive or confusing (think creative ;) )!

Blind Mouse Computer Prank:This is a pretty innovative prank. When your friend is not near is computer, simply stick a post-it note (or tape a paper ) under his Optical mouse over the eye of the mouse. This will block the LED sensor and the when he tries to move the mouse, your friend will be shocked to see that the cursor doesn't move. After some panic, they will be sure having a chuckle with the sight of the "April Fools!!" text written on the post-it note.

Desktop Wallpaper Prank:This is a very standard computer prank!Nevertheless, you can always try it on your friends for lots of fun. While your friend is away from his computer, take a screenshot of his Desktop using the "Print Screen" button. Then open MS Paint and Press Ctrl+V. This pastes the image and save it now as an image and quit Paint. Set this image as your friend's Desktop Wallpaper and hide all the desktop Icons. Now, the Desktop looks normal but when your friend tries to click the icons, they have to be "pranked" as nothing happens!

It doesn't sound Cool Prank:While your friend is away, change the login sound of your friends computer to something loud and weird like burning sound or something screeching etc. When he tries to restart his computer your friend has to be worried for sometime to understand what has been happening to his computer.

Blue Screen of Death Computer Prank :Remember the fatal Windows Blue Screen of Death. Now, you can use that to easily prank your friend.Download the BSOD screenshot below this prank and set it as your friend's wallpaper. Hide the Icons on Desktop and the Taskbar. Now, when your friend comes back, all he sees is this BSOD and can do nothing but repeated restarts of computer.

Owned/Cursed Cursor Prank: While your friend is away busy irritating others, you plug-in a USB mouse from behind his CPU box. Now, when he comes back, take control of his mouse through the USB mouse to see him jump out of fury! This prank is best for people with adjacent cubicles in an office.

Software Pranks:

Avoid:With this fun joke program you can make the Windows Start button avoid your mouse clicks. Just launch this program and watch as the Start button jumps away from your mouse cursor as your friend tries to click on it.

Time Traveler: This innovative and irritating prank changes the system clock time to a random time every 30 seconds making your friend furious

ShakeDown: This prank software shakes your  current desktop violently. The prank will not be just annoying, but it also gives the eyes a good amount of strain.

Rotate:This simple but effective prank rotates the user's Desktop. It can randomly flip the desktop into weird positions. Each time, Rotate is run, the rotation is different and hence keep playing it.

Replace Keys:Replace Keys is a hard to detect prank that replaces the keystrokes. So, you can replace such that every time 'a' is typed, take it as 'X'.This results in typos to the user, but is very hard to detect.

Screen Screw: This prank screws with your screen and adds a color tint to your screen that keeps changing. This makes the victims believe that something has been happened to their monitors.

Backwards Mouse:This prank software allows the mouse moves to be reversed.So, if your friend moves the mouse up, it will move their mouse down.If they move it left, it moves it right and similar.This will make them feel something bad has happened to their mouse.
