37+ Methods to build your Brand/Service online
ShareWith everyone around you turning to internet, there has been a steep raise in the demand to get your services online and build some reputation to it. Except for some biggies, most companies aim to sell their products online by gaining traffic and reputation from Search Engines, Social Media and other referring sites. So to get traffic and earnings for your services and building your brand, you have to do a lot of on-site and off-site SEO and SMO(Social Media Optimization) . In this post, I am going to list out short and sweet tips to get this task done. In the coming days, I will be making a series of posts explaining each of these points in detail. I would like to make it work as a complete guide to SEO and Brand Building. The series will be under the name ETOBB (Eureka Tips' Online Brand Building) series
So here goes the list :) (Keep in mind that the order of tips here is no way thought of chronological and is highly random and some of the tips may not suit some particular businesses)
- Article Submission: Write a good amount of articles and press releases and submit them to the article directories
- Blog Commenting: Comment on other people's blogs and guest books. Commenting on relevant blogs helps by returning Search Engine juice and backlinks.
- Answers : Answer people's questions on Q&a sites like Yahoo! Answers.
- Forum Posting: Make relevant posts in forums related to your niche. Also use the signature space to market your brand and get backlinks to your site.
- Wiki & Free Pixel Sites: Add links to your site on wiki sites relevant to your niche and increase the brand exposure. Advertising your site on free pixel sites, wiki pages and free words sites also helps.
- Testimonials : Provide your honest, unbiased testimonial to a product/service that you have used. See to it that provide you a backlink for that.
- Blogging: Run a blog that discusses not only your service/brand but also something relevant. Submit it to lots of blog directories.
- Search Engine Submission: Submit your website and blog to major search engines.
- Keyword Otimization : Optimize each and every page on your website and blogs for a targeted keyword or search phrase.
- Signatures: Add a link to your website/product/service/blog in your email signatures. You can follow the same for other signatures like forum signature, article submissions, auto responders, vacation responders etc.
- Social Footers: Add a Bookmark this site link, pointing to major social sites, on your website pages, blog post footers etc. Also add subscribe to RSS Feed buttons.
- Tell-a-Friend: Always have a tell your friend option on all your website pages, blog posts etc.
- Offline Promotion: Promote your website on all your offline promotions although your service is majorly offline. Making a stamp of your website and stamping it on all your office stationery helps.
- Giveaways : Give away freebies like ebooks, reports, e-courses etc very often in order to acquire traffic. You can also giveaway some software programs created by you. Some other methods are business card promotion, t-shirt promotion, pamphlets etc.
- RSS Feed: Add an RSS feed to your blog and blast it to lot of RSS Feed directories.
- Directory Submission: Submit your website and blogs to lots of web directories.
- Link Exchanges: Take part in some banner and Link Exchange programs.Find similar sites that want link exchange with you.
- Domains: Purchase the typos of your and your competitor's domain names. Also buy domains that are already receiving traffic related to your niche and redirect them to your product/service/brand. (Expired Domains)
- FanPages: Run fan pages related to your site/brand/product on different social networking sites.
- Video Marketing: Make a viral video explaining your service/product or a funny video and blast it to all video networking sites.
- Surveys : Conduct and Publish surveys and polls related to your service/product/brand.
- Newsletter Marketing: Run your own Opt-in Newsletters/ e-zine and build a Mailing list of relevant people.
- Ebay Marketing: Sell a product related to your brand/service on eBay with a link back to your site. If you don't have any products place classified ads.
- Classsifies Ads: Post classified ads to any product/service linking back to your website/blog.
- Freemium: Offer services for free with basic features and ask them to pay to get premium features.
- Free Services: Offer some services for free with your advertising/ promotional banners displayed.
- Networking: Network with people at different seminars and live events. You can aslo use social networking sites to network with people.39. Purchase advertising in popular newsletters or ezines.
- Mailing Lists: Join lots of Google and Yahoo groups in your niche and post mails promoting your service/product in the post content or your signature.
- Ebook Marketing: Create a free e-book with links to your website and list it on e-book sharing sites.
- Controversy: Create a controversy through a blog post or press release and make into the news.
- Profiles: Create profiles on lots of social bookmarking, social networking and all sites that allow public profiles. Give your website/blog URL in all those profiles.
- Toplists: Add your site to a big number of toplist sites.
- PTC & Traffic Exchange Sites: Use PTC and traffic exchange sites to generate traffic to your website/blog.
- PLR & MRR products: Create and give away some PLR/MRR product with all the resale and giveaway rights. Include your links in the products so that others can pass it for you.
- SEM and PPC: Do SEM and PPC marketing using services like Google Adwords, Yahoo Ads etc.
- Twitter: Create a Twitter account, follow targeted people and make some good tweets to drive traffic.
- P2P Torrents:Share ebooks/softwares to which you have distribution rights with your website name in the filename.
- Guest Blogging: Offer to write guest blog posts on the authority blogs in your niche. Most of them would happily approve it.
Bonus Tip: Get your website name engraved on a pair of footwear . Now, go to a beach and leave all the marks in the mud with your website name.
