Name Cheap "Fun Facts" Twitter Contest - Free domains for grab

Namecheap , one of the top domain registrars out on the net, have started a wonderful 'Fun Facts' twitter contest. Starting from March 10th till March 24th they are giving away domain names at an astounding rate of 3 per hour. Along with the domain names, the top two players to answer the most questions correctly as well as one player at random will win customizable Dell Inspiron Mini Netbooks worth up to $500.

Boosted with the success of their last Twitter trivia contest held during Christmas 2008 season, the Name Cheap management have decided to up their stakes and have another competition. This time the competition is abigger than last times with around $10,000 worth of doamin giveaways. Not to mention the 3 special prizes of Dell Inspiron Mini Netbooks.NameCheap which always relied on word-of-mouth for marketing aims to gain a lot of marketing through this initiative which is taking place on the Social Media platform 'twitter'.

How to play?

To participate in the contest you have to perform the following steps first.

Link your NameCheap and Twitter Accounts:

  1. Signup for an account on twitter and Namecheap if you haven't done already.(You don't need to pay to have any of these accounts)
  2. Follow NameCheap on twitter .
  3. Login to your NameCheap Account.
  4. After you login, go to 'My Account' > 'Manage Profile'  and then choose 'Twitter Integration' link on the left sidebar.
  5. Enter your Twitter Username and click 'Verify'.
  6. A short code will be sent from NameCheap to your Twitter account using a direct message.
  7. Enter the code on the confirmation page and you are all set with linking the accounts.

Answer the questions:

  1. Now follow the questions from @NameCheap on twitter.
  2. Now answer the questions by sending the tweet '@namecheap <your answer>'
    For example,

    • NameCheap will send out a message in twitter that says, "Who is the hero in the movie Titanic?"
    • You should then send a message back that says "@namecheap Leonardo D'caprio".
  3. Don't forget to use the @namecheap 'coz it's what makes the namecheap bot to find the people who answered it.

The first person to reply to the tweet with the correct answer will receive $9.69 credit to their NameCheap account automatically. Don't get discouraged even if you don't answer first because there will be two other random people from the correct answers who will be winning the credit.

    Hey,

    That is a great article on twitter as well as the company giving away domains. I actually tend to use Godaddy.com instead however. Especially ever since I found out they off promotional codes to save their customers money.

    The code I used was OK1

    It saved me $10 because my purchase was $100. With that being said, OK1 is 10% off any purchase at Godaddy.com

    I missed the contest. T_T. I've tried namecheap and it is a great company. What I like about them in the first place is that they receive payments from unverified PayPal accounts which is great for people looking to start.

    I hope they run a contest like this again.
