The world is now set fire seemingly “Twitter-Killer” site Plurk.For the folks who are not aware of yet, Plurk is another yet microblogging site with many new innovative features.I fell in love with it right since I joined.As Plurk is very new , many new users feel it difficult to follow and there is not yet good documentation available for it.So I thought I would put up some tips to get around with it.

Links:
To link to yours or some of your friends’ Plurk profile use @Username in your Plurks and responses where Username is the name you want to link to.

If you want to give an anchor text to any of your link use this format – Your_URL (Link Text) – where Your_URL is the site address you want to link to and Link Text is the text which you want to show for the link.Remember the space after Your_URL and before ( .

Formatting;
To make a word in italic like this , use the word between asterisks like *this* .

To make a word in bold like this ,use the word between double asterisks like **this** .

To make a word underlined like this ,use the word between double underscores like __this__ .

You can’t use any of them in together and also the asterisks or underscores will appear in your plourks.I feel they should adopt something like in GMail.

Timeline:

1. You can scroll through your timeline in many ways -by scroll wheel or arrow keys  or by dragging or even by clicking on the Arrow symbols at the end.
2. You can see just your  Plurks or  you and your friends’ Plurks or just private Plurks  using the menu in the bottom right corner of your timeline.
3. You can click on any “qualifiers” (The coloured words on your plurks like shares,asks etc) to seethe plurks with only those qualifiers highlighted in the timeline.It’s one of the easy ways to sort your timeline.

Sharing Media:

To share media on Plurk, just post the URLs of your images or videos, and Plurk will automatically display the thumbnails of them.
